Vote for Change in Camas
About Me
My name is Geoerl Niles
I have been a dedicated leader and active member of the Camas community for many years. With over 15 years of experience as a Senior Pastor and serving in various community roles, I bring a wealth of leadership and commitment to my campaign for Camas City Councilor. I have served on the Camas Planning Commission since 2019, currently holding the position of Vice Chair, and have contributed to local efforts through the Camas Parking Committee and the Camas Design Review Committee.

My professional background includes experience as a Human Resources Manager and Event/Restaurant Manager with Portland Spirit. I also serve on the board of Directors of Ascend International Ministries and as the Treasurer for Celebrate Hope Ministries Uganda. As a local artist, I’ve participated in downtown events to help build connections within our community.

Married for 34 years to my wife, Julianne, I am a proud father of seven children, two of which are my adopted nephews, and nine grandchildren. I am deeply passionate about maintaining Camas' small-town charm and ensuring it remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Key Commitments

Public Safety
I am committed to ensuring Camas remains a safe place for all residents. Strong, well-supported police and fire departments are essential in keeping our community secure. I will prioritize public safety to ensure that Camas stays a safe and welcoming place for families.

Low Taxes & Fees
I believe Camas residents deserve to live in an affordable, efficient city. I will work to minimize unnecessary fees and taxes, relieving the financial burden on local families and businesses. I’ll advocate for cost-effective city services to preserve Camas' affordability.
Sense of Community
My top priority is preserving the small-town feel of Camas. As our city continues to grow, we must protect its charm and our sense of community while managing development responsibly. I’ll ensure we avoid big-city issues and continue making Camas a great place for families to live.
